If you have some fundamental understand or hands-on experience with strategic planning, then this course is the next step to provide you with further skills and techniques to hone your strategic planning ability. A good refresher for those who have conducted a strategic plan but may have forgotten some key elements.
What will I learn?
This one-day Advanced Strategic Planning Skills workshop is designed to help you sift through a myriad of strategic options and understand how to make the best strategic choices for your organization. By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
- Understand the difference between strategic choice and strategic implementation
- Organize and run successful strategic planning retreats
- Identify the values, capabilities and resources within your organization that support the vision
- Conduct a SPACE analysis, interpret an IFA and EFA analysis plus learn how to use several other strategic choice tools
- Develop the key strategic imperatives that become the core of your strategic plan
- Learn how to create action plans to move your organization towards your vision
- Deal effectively with communication issues, disagreements and conflict during the change management process following a strategic plan
This workshop is perfect for you if:
- You have some knowledge of the strategic planning process
- You are just about to embark upon a strategic planning process or are currently in the middle of the process
- You have attended the Fundamentals of Strategic Planning Workshop run by HighgateGlobal
- You are an experienced strategic planner
There will be some pre-workshop assignments.
Understanding how to start and conduct a strategic planning process are the first steps in developing a new strategy for your organization. However, after a period of strategic analysis, you will be overwhelmed by opportunities and possibilities. The difficulty arises when you have to make a choice as to which strategic direction it is best for your organization to follow. This workshop will help you make those choices!
How is the workshop taught?
This is a highly participative and interactive workshop. Prior to the workshop, you will be tasked with some pre-workshop preparation, which will be used as an integral part of the workshop. During the 1-day there will be group work, individual presentations and peer-to-peer coaching. All materials, handouts and resources will be supplied by HighgateGlobal
